FYI, this story is more than a year old

Increased demand for enterprise security solutions has fuelled three-digit year-on-year business growth for Kaspersky in Southeast Asia.

Driving the region's growth in the enterprise solutions segment are the company's key business solutions, Kaspersky's Threat Intelligence and Kaspersky Anti-Targeted Attack. These products are part of Kaspersky Cybersecurity Services portfolio which aims to provide a holistic “true cybersecurity” for companies across the region.

In Singapore, the need for businesses to better incorporate cybersecurity solutions has been identified as a key priority by the Government. Hence, it is unsurprising that businesses are stepping up to the challenge and are looking at ways to improve their cybersecurity posture, Kaspersky says.

“When we talk about true cybersecurity, it involves the combination of solutions and professional services which can cover the four stages of a cybersecurity attack - predict, prevent, detect, and respond," says Yeo Siang Tiong, general manager for Southeast Asia at Kaspersky.

"Our 2019 enterprise results clearly proves more and more enterprise stakeholders in the region believe in our expertise and capability to secure their systems and networks from the most common threats to the most sophisticated attacks,” he says.

Stephan Neumeier, managing director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky adds, “Southeast Asia undoubtedly had a phenomenal year. While it houses countries at different levels of IT maturity as well economic stages, one thing is common - enterprises in this region are starting to see the importance of a multi-layer approach to cybersecurity especially as they embark on their Industry 4.0 journeys.

"With our in-depth threat intelligence and next-generation technology, we are confident that our enterprise growth in this region, along with the entire Asia Pacific, has just started," he says.

In terms of the company's whole enterprise segment, including Kaspersky's endpoint and non-endpoint solutions, 2019 results showed that Singapore logged a whopping three-digit growth while Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand posted a double-digit growth. The combined numbers of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar posted a one-digit increase compared to its enterprise numbers in 2018.

Digital sales of Kaspersky's consumer and business suite also ramps up the overall growth of the company in the region. The countries of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar led the region with its three-digit markup. The rest of the nations in Southeast Asia also showed a two-digit increase on their digital sales. The global company's SMB portfolio has its share of achievements as well with the Philippines posting a double-digit YOY growth.

Overall, Kaspersky's Southeast Asia region has recorded robust results across its digital, SMB, and enterprise segments last year.

In 2019, Kaspersky has launched its new brand globally supported by rebranding activities across its offices worldwide, including the Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore and the Southeast Asia office in Malaysia. The global cybersecurity company has also continued its transparency initiatives and strategic partnerships in Southeast Asia. It has renewed its cooperation with INTERPOL last July and has signed several Memorandum of Understanding with key cybersecurity agencies across the region.

“We are grateful for the unparalleled trust we are receiving from our customers, our stakeholders, and our industry peers. As an evolving cybersecurity company, we will continue to strive to advocate transparency and cooperation in the industry and to constantly improve on our threat intelligence capability and next-generation technologies to combat complex threats lurking online,” adds Tiong.
