NetFoundry offers free cloud networking to businesses in need
NetFoundry has announced its commitment to maintaining critical services and offering complimentary services to businesses in need as many countries are in lockdown, or have implemented social isolation measures due to COVID-19.
NetFoundry CEO and founder Galeal Zino says the company has implemented ‘radical moves’ to continue to provide essential services with greater security and high performance networking services for remote staff and students.
Furthermore, the company is offering charitable organisations, schools, universities, hospitals, medical professionals and law enforcement agencies complimentary use of their Cloud Native Networking Platform for at least three months.
According to a statement, the intention is to make this offer available to every suitable organisation. Full details of the platform, its benefits and how to accept this complimentary offer can be found on the NetFoundry website.
According to Zino, social distancing requirements result in higher security risks for businesses as employees work from various home-based locations.
As such, high-quality, security tools become more important - but choosing the right tools is crucial.
CISA has warned businesses of the security risks incurred by remote workers across Virtual Private Network, according to NetFoundry.
Zino states at NetFoundry, instead of configuring and managing multiple VPN tunnels, the IT administrators have central visibility and granular control of the entire network, including remote clients.
In order to make use of the service, businesses must have software for each endpoint including Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile devices.
According to NetFoundry, example benefits of better performance and more secure networking to the edge include: hospitals and research institutes being able to connect across the globe to share important findings to combat this pandemic; schools and universities being able to share and access classes and lectures; and for law enforcement to be better connected to combat unexpected security risks.
Zino says, “In the current climate it is more important than ever to keep vital services connected throughout this trying time. We want to help by supporting critical IT infrastructures and enable them to stay securely connected with colleagues across the globe.”
He also states that the company has put more focus on customer support as it’s ‘a very busy time to think of upgrading communications’.
Zino says, “We appreciate that this is a very busy time to think of upgrading communications. So we are doing everything to ensure that everyone will be up and running as quickly, smoothly and securely as possible. We have engineers and customer support specialists on stand-by to make sure that happens.”
One customer of NetFoundry is Integro Technologies. The company, which was named Control Engineerings System Integrator of the Year, and is the largest machine vision only company in North America, previously used the NetFoundry platform for IoT and Edge Networking and is now using the same platform for remote workers.
Shawn Campion, CEO of Integro Technologies, says, “I am very grateful we purchased NetFoundry (VPN) software in January. We were able to configure and activate our entire staff of 45+ people for remote access to various on premise local workstations and servers in less than two hours with a range of permissions per users and/or group. In the last few days it has been a life saver, preparing for the worst possible condition/events.”
