BlackLine & Workiva integrate financial reporting capabilities
Thu, 5th Sep 2019
FYI, this story is more than a year old

BlackLine and Workiva are launching a joint platform integration designed to help customers streamline the financial close and reporting processes, opening up more transparency and confidence in report data.

The integration will allow organisations to connect and transfer data between the two platforms, resulting in time savings and risk reduction.

Workiva vice president of partners and alliances, Mike Rost, says many of Workiva's customers use solutions from both Blackline and Workiva.

"Many of our customers use BlackLine to automate balance sheet reconciliations and other processes they need for a successful financial close before they use the Workiva platform for reporting and compliance.

“With this new integration, our joint customers will be able to benefit from better transparency across applications and a higher level of trust and confidence in the data they report.

BlackLine vice president of global strategic alliances Michael Otto adds, “Thousands of leading finance and accounting teams around the globe have adopted BlackLine for our comprehensive account reconciliation and close automation capabilities and Workiva for its connected and trusted reporting.

“By working together, we believe we are creating additional customer value by offering a whole new level of control, transparency and accuracy.

BlackLine recently announced that it would leverage the power of Google Cloud to boost its own financial automation platform. The partnership will bring capabilities like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time intelligence to its platform.

“With Google Cloud, BlackLine is accelerating its digital transformation journey, taking a cloud-first approach to its products and services and utilising cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning,” says Google Cloud president of global customer operations, Rob Enslin.

“Most importantly, BlackLine customers will benefit from increased protections and the scalable infrastructure needed to keep pace in today's business world.

In August, BlackLine also launched a new tiered partner program, which combines BlackLine's Enterprise Consulting and Affiliate Partner Programs into one: The BlackLine Alliance Partner Program.

The program is based on a clearly defined tiered model that rewards success, five new partner tiers provide growing degrees of go-to-market enablement, incentives, funding, training, recognition and marketing support.

As partners achieve results, they gain access to additional BlackLine benefits and resources. Tiers include Select, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum and have either a global or regional designation.

“We believe that the Gartner forecast presents an incredibly compelling opportunity for BlackLine and our partners,” says Otto.

“By combining our market-leading financial close platform with the expertise of leading financial advisory firms, we provide customers access to a best-of-breed solution coupled with extensive thought leadership. As a result, customers can leverage BlackLine and our partners as true strategic advisors in their digital financial transformation journeys.
