Radware to provide advanced DDoS protection for Asian tax authority
Wed, 10th Apr 2024

Radware, a foremost provider of cybersecurity and application delivery solutions, has been contracted to supply advanced Defense Pro X DDoS protection to an unnamed Asian tax authority. This move is part of a million-dollar agreement set to bolster the security of the tech infrastructure administered by the federal authority.

The tax body is charged with preserving the nation's economic interests, executing taxing policies, safeguarding associated communication and information technology, and optimising operational efficiency. The new cybersecurity measures aim to support these objectives by delivering top-tier protection against pervasive and increasingly complex distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

Commenting on the contract, Yoav Gazelle, Chief Business Officer at Radware, explained, "This win underscores Radware's strength and expertise in the public sector. Governments worldwide are being tasked to protect sprawling infrastructures and, in many cases, legacy systems while DDoS attacks escalate in frequency and complexity. Radware's Defense Pro X is unmatched in its ability to accurately mitigate emerging forms of volumetric, multi-vector, layer 7 DDoS attacks."

Gazelle went on to highlight the shortcomings of alternative tools reliant on pre-existing signatures or rate-based detections, which may fall short without obstructing legitimate traffic. He added, "Radware's Defense Pro X is unmatched in its ability to accurately mitigate emerging forms of volumetric, multi-vector, layer 7 DDoS attacks."

Radware's 2024 Global Threat Analysis Report underscored an alarming surge of malicious online activity, illustrating the growing threat landscape. Total malicious web application and API transactions rose by 171% last year, compared to 2022, with a significant portion attributed to layer seven encrypted web application attacks or Web DDoS attacks.

Radware's Defense Pro X is engineered to detect and block malevolent traffic precisely while ensuring uninterrupted availability. The system offers automatic and adaptive DDoS protection in the face of swift, high-volume, encrypted, or zero-day threats. The technology defends against a broad range of cyber threats, including IoT-based, Burst, DNS, and TLS/SSL attacks, ransom DDoS campaigns, IoT botnets, phantom floods, and others.

Radware's prowess in DDoS mitigation has drawn industry-wide recognition and numerous awards for its range of solutions, including API protection, web application firewall, bot detection, and management services. Reputable industry analysts such as Aite-Novarica Group, Forrester Research, Gartner, GigaOm, KuppingerCole, and Quadrant Knowledge Solutions have endorsed Radware as a guiding force in global cybersecurity.

Radware's contract to provide advanced Defense Pro X DDoS protection to an unnamed Asian tax authority represents a critical step in safeguarding the integrity and stability of the authority's tech infrastructure. With cyber threats on the rise, particularly in the public sector, Radware's expertise in combating sophisticated DDoS attacks is essential for ensuring uninterrupted operations and protecting sensitive data. As threats continue to evolve, Radware remains committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that empower organisations to defend against cyber adversaries and maintain the resilience of their digital assets.
