BackBox launches new platform for network resilience in 2024

Today

BackBox, based in Dallas, Texas, has launched its Network Cyber Resilience Platform following what the company described as its most successful year on record in 2024.

The platform aims to aid network and security teams in enhancing the resilience and recoverability of critical network infrastructure. "Our platform elevates organizations' network cyber resilience strategy by simplifying the protection and management of their network infrastructure," said Rekha Shenoy, Chief Executive Officer of BackBox.

"Only BackBox delivers a consistent experience for everyone, regardless of the device or environment."

BackBox's Network Cyber Resilience Platform is an automation platform designed for large-scale networks, supporting 180 different network vendors. The platform offers features such as automated backups, compliance and policy management, and network infrastructure integrity, which are designed to tackle common network challenges.

Key components include Automated Lifecycle Management, which manages device backups, upgrades, and patches; Compliance & Policy Management, which ensures configurations meet industry standards; and Network Infrastructure Integrity, which addresses vulnerabilities through automated mitigation.

The platform has been recognized for its emphasis on privacy and data security, achieving SOC 2 Type 2 Compliance in 2024. This compliance certifies that BackBox's security controls and operational processes meet high standards.

BackBox also provides support for organisations in the European Union that must adhere to the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) guidelines, offering automations that align with these standards.

In 2024, BackBox was acknowledged as a strong performer in the Gartner Voice of the Customer report for Network Automation Platforms, receiving the highest "willingness to recommend" score. It was also named a High Performer in the Winter 2025 G2 Grid Report for Network Automation Tools, earning top marks for Best Results, Best Relationship, and Best Usability.

BackBox received several awards last year, being named Software Product of the Year by Network Computing and receiving the Best of Enterprise Network Award from Network World.

Leadership changes included the appointment of Rekha Shenoy as CEO and board director, focusing on expanding BackBox's market presence. John Evarts also joined as Chief Operating Officer, bringing experience from leading early-stage software companies.
