Eva Zhuang becomes first female partner at Boman Group

Yesterday

Boman Group, an Australian investment firm with funds under management exceeding USD $600 million, has announced the appointment of Eva Zhuang as a Partner.

Eva Zhuang has been part of the Boman Group for a decade, significantly contributing to the firm's investment successes. Notably, she played a key role in securing the sole Australian placement in OpenAI's recent capital raise. Her leadership extended to managing deals with several prominent global companies, including Airbnb, DJI, Databricks, and Stripe.

Zhuang began her career at the company as an Investment Manager, later advancing to the role of Investment Director, a position she maintained for seven years. Her recent promotion marks her as the first woman to achieve partnership status at Boman Group.

In her new role, Zhuang will continue to manage Boman's Unicorn fund, which targets investments in highly scalable companies. She is also set to lead the company's Equity Capital Markets Services, offering corporate advisory services to businesses within the Asia-Pacific region. Zhuang's primary focus will be on corporate finance, assisting businesses with initial public offerings and growth investment strategies.

Boman Group CEO, Eric Gao, commented on the appointment: "Eva brings curiosity, dedication and determination to her work at Boman Group. Thanks to her efforts, especially working on our Unicorn fund, Boman has often been the only known Australian investor in several globally significant deals. As a partner of the fund, Eva will build her work securing placements for Boman, but will also further lend companies her expertise as part of our growth Equity Capital Markets Services division."

Eva Zhuang expressed her enthusiasm about her new role, stating: "This appointment marks a remarkable ten years of learning and insight from working at Boman Group. While securing placements for our unicorn fund has been, and will continue to be my focus, I'm excited by the opportunity to apply what I've learned with our Equity Capital Markets Services division across the APAC region."

The announcement of Zhuang's new role coincides with Boman Group's plans to launch several major funds in 2024. Among these is a fund designed to support Australian businesses in expanding into China and gaining broader exposure in the Asian market.
