Gallagher launches Virtual Classroom for technician training in Asia

Fri, 13th Sep 2024

Gallagher Security has introduced a new cloud-based training solution named Virtual Classroom in Asia, which is designed to provide enhanced training opportunities for technicians.

The new initiative aims to increase the availability of courses and reduce wait times.

Danielle Mitchell, the Training Manager for APAC & IMEA at Gallagher, provided further details on the new training format. "Gallagher Virtual Classroom allows our training team to continue offering the same convenience and low-cost that Channel Partners currently receive via Online Training while enabling more engagement with technicians during the course," she stated. Mitchell added, "Virtual Classroom training provides hands-on product experience and access to training experts, combined with the added value of training remotely from home or a workplace, anywhere in Asia."

The implementation of the cloud-based training is straightforward, with each attendee receiving a link to the course. Attendees can use this link to access a web-based Command Centre platform and virtual hardware while the trainer conducts the course through Microsoft Teams. This method eliminates the need to ship kits to attendees, thereby reducing turnaround time between courses and increasing the availability of training sessions.

Mitchell expressed confidence in the efficacy of the new platform, saying, "I believe that what we have created is as effective, if not more so, than traditional classroom training. Using the Virtual Classroom cloud-based platform, we have a greater ability to see where each attendee is struggling, falling behind, or even skipping ahead."

The Virtual Classroom was initially launched in Australia and Papua New Guinea in 2023. The new training format led to a 43% increase in the number of courses offered, with over 300 technicians benefiting from the solution. The platform will now be used to deliver all Access Technician and Access Engineer courses in Asia this year.

Scott Bell, Training Solutions Lead at Gallagher, indicated that the company has ambitious plans for the Virtual Classroom. "We're excited to see Asia be the next region to take up Virtual Classroom. We have ambitious goals to deliver the best learning experiences and are excited to say that we'll continue to improve our Virtual Classroom offering with a new release later this year that will improve user experience and ease of access for our learners. Expect to see some exciting developments in our training systems and our training content in the months to come," he said.

Joe Fan, Regional Marketing Manager, also spoke positively about the new initiative. "The introduction of our Virtual Classroom training is truly a game-changing development for us as we work to scale our ability to deliver quality training to candidates across Asia. We look forward to seeing the evolution of our world-class virtual training offering over time," he commented.

With the launch of Virtual Classroom in Asia, Gallagher is aiming to reach a broader audience and accommodate the lifestyles of Channel Partners engaged in remote work. The company plans to continue adapting and improving its virtual training offerings to meet evolving needs.
