Kaspersky's VPN outshines peers in AV-TEST's independent evaluation
Wed, 10th Apr 2024

Kaspersky has been recognised for the superior performance of its Virtual Private Network (VPN) by independent testing organisation, AV-TEST. The company's VPN offering garnering an AV-TEST Approved certificate, reemphasises Kaspersky's role as a notable provider of rapid and secure connections across a range of devices and platforms.

When compared to the performance metrics of 2022, the AV-TEST results highlighted a compelling 355% enhancement in upload speeds for overseas connections, thereby illustrating the efficiency of the platform. Kaspersky VPN was also singled out for its robust streaming and torrenting capabilities, managing to maintain performance nearing non-VPN reference values.

VPNs are gaining momentum as essential tools for modern users, and Kaspersky remains committed to delivering a frictionless and seamless experience for its patrons. To reach these ends, the improvements made to the platform are notable. Upload speed for overseas connections rose by an incredible 355%, and latency was improved by 3%. For local connections, latency dropped by 24%, upload speed was augmented by 23%, and download speed by an impressive 32%.

Kaspersky VPN's expansive global server network, regarded as one of the largest in the industry, was commended by AV-TEST. The VPN offers users connections in 83 countries and 102 server locations across the globe. The breadth of these locations gives users the convenience to customise the usage of the VPN for a range of scenarios. The double VPN feature provides a fluid digital experience along with an escalated level of privacy for personal data.

One significant feature is the impressive list of protocols Kaspersky VPN offers users. Along with the widely used WireGuard, OpenVPN and Catapult Hydra, the VPN has extended support for the open-source protocol WireGuard in 2023, adding to the reliability and the transparency of the product. Users can choose the protocol that best aligns with their individual requirements, ensuring greater adaptability and user satisfaction.

Marina Titova, Vice-President, Consumer Product Marketing at Kaspersky, shared her perspective on the achievement, "VPNs have become essential tools for modern users, ensuring the privacy and security of valuable personal data. Our aim is to provide the best VPN for our users. We know that consumers pay strong attention to speed and performance - that's why we invest a lot into a seamless experience." She also stated their pride at having the excellence of their technologies acknowledged by esteemed testing organisations like AV-TEST. "Results confirm that our product development is on the right track," Titova concluded.

Kaspersky remains a leading figure in the VPN market, and this approval certificate serves only to bolster their reputation. The robust features, enhanced speed, reliable connections and heightened security that Kaspersky VPN offers users, places it at the forefront of the industry.
