LO:TECH raises USD $12 million to expand into US & Asia

LO:TECH has raised USD $12 million in a Series A funding round led by MMC, with participation from Faction, 13 Books Capital and Atka.
The London trading firm will use the money to expand into the US and Asia-Pacific and grow its execution services for institutional clients. It is targeting locations including New York and Singapore and is exploring licences in the US as it seeks regulation in the markets it enters.
LO:TECH has also launched execution services across traditional, digital and prediction markets. The service is built on trading infrastructure designed to operate across venues and asset classes around the clock.
The fundraising comes as parts of the digital asset market have weakened while tokenised versions of traditional assets have grown. In the year to June 2026, Bitcoin lost around USD $62,000 from peak to trough, while total crypto market capitalisation fell by about 50%, according to LO:TECH.
Over a similar period, the value of tokenised real-world assets on public blockchains nearly doubled from about USD $20.6 billion to USD $38 billion, according to RWA.xyz. Tokenised equities also rose from roughly USD $960 million in March to USD $3.2 billion by late September.
LO:TECH is positioning itself around that shift, seeking to provide liquidity and execution across digital assets and tokenised traditional assets. That puts it in a market where established exchange groups and crypto venues are also seeking routes between conventional finance and blockchain-based trading.
In June, Intercontinental Exchange, owner of the New York Stock Exchange, and crypto exchange OKX announced a joint venture to give OKX customers access to NYSE tokenised equities, subject to regulatory approval. The move highlighted growing interest in tokenised financial products among large market operators.
LO:TECH was founded by Tim Meggs, Marcus Horsley and Alex Williams. It now serves more than 50 clients, including publicly listed companies, across three product lines: designated market making, market data and execution services.
Since its previous funding round in August 2025, the company has tripled revenue and doubled headcount, according to LO:TECH. It has also recorded two consecutive years of triple-digit revenue growth despite difficult crypto market conditions.
Meggs said the company was built to reflect changes in how trading now takes place across time zones and venues. "Capital markets were built for a world that opened at 8am and closed at 4.30pm. That's not how risk is traded any more," said Tim Meggs, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of LO:TECH.
He added: "The best trading firms in the world are technologically advanced, but they grew up on top of traditional market infrastructure. We built ours from scratch for markets that run 24/7, onchain and across every asset class."
Horsley linked that strategy to pressure on the boundaries between crypto-native businesses and established financial firms. "Fintech and digital asset platforms are moving into territory that used to belong to Wall Street. To do that well, they need trading partners built for how these markets actually work," said Marcus Horsley, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of LO:TECH.
He added: "There is room for a capital markets firm that grew up in digital assets to compete with the largest names in traditional finance, and we think that firm can be built in London."
MMC said its investment reflects the view that tokenised real-world assets and always-on trading venues will continue to expand. It has previously backed blockchain-related financial infrastructure businesses and sees scope for specialist trading firms to serve those markets.
"Tim, Marcus and the LO:TECH team have built a business designed for markets that never close, delivering triple-digit revenue growth over the past year through exceptionally tough crypto market conditions," said Ollie Ricards, Partner at MMC.
He added: "We've been investing in blockchain-based financial infrastructure for several years because we believe in the benefits tokenised real-world assets can bring. As more trading moves to always-on venues, we see a significant opportunity for LO:TECH to provide the infrastructure those markets need, and we're delighted to support the team on that journey."
