RobobAI unveils Agent Bob to transform procurement insights
RobobAI has introduced Agent Bob, an AI-powered data companion designed for procurement teams. The new platform aims to simplify the process of unlocking strategic insights from extensive procurement data. Built on RobobAI's existing AI Spend Cube analytics platform, Agent Bob offers a conversational interface for accessing, analysing, and acting on supplier and spend information.
Conversational capabilities
Agent Bob allows users to interact with procurement data using natural language questions. Procurement professionals can request actions such as calculating savings opportunities, developing category plans, or analysing the impact of regulatory changes on spending. The AI retrieves and analyses data before presenting answers in various forms, including visual charts, comparative summaries, or actionable recommendations.
The system is designed to offer multi-step reasoning capabilities. It can preserve the context of ongoing queries, enabling users to refine or drill down into insights throughout a conversation.
Instant insights
Traditional procurement often relies on static reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets, which can slow teams down. Agent Bob aims to address these issues by delivering immediate, validated answers directly in response to user queries. Users can ask follow-up or conditional questions and expect a dynamic update to results and analyses at each step.
"Procurement shouldn't be about finding data - it should be about knowing what to do next," said George Hannaford, Chief Customer Officer, RobobAI.
Procurement processes
Agent Bob's outputs are not limited to analytics. The platform can generate executive summaries, draft category management plans, produce reports, and deliver visual aids such as charts. It is also designed to create bespoke outputs based on personal or organisational procurement priorities, such as cost efficiency, supplier sustainability, risk management, or strategy for specific categories.
The AI can summarise lengthy procurement reports and supplier profiles. It offers the ability to build insights across multi-turn dialogues, helping teams to assemble a broader perspective on their data before taking decisions.
Privacy and security
Agent Bob is integrated with the security and governance structures of the Spend Cube platform. Features include secure, isolated environments and compliance-readiness. All outputs are validated against underlying enterprise data sets, with no mixing of data between different customers.
The product also supports deployment options such as dedicated virtual private cloud environments or private on-premises installations, aiming to keep customer data protected within enterprise boundaries.
Adoption options
Organisations are able to trial Agent Bob through various engagement models, including proof of concept programmes, sandbox evaluations, and guided pilot deployments.
"Agent Bob allows teams to spend less time hunting through dashboards and more time shaping strategy. It's procurement intelligence, made instant," said Hannaford.
