SEON has formed a global partnership with Yuno, giving Yuno customers access to SEON's fraud prevention and identity verification tools.

The arrangement lets customers use those tools through the same infrastructure they already use to manage payments across more than 1,000 payment methods in 190 countries, removing the need for a separate integration.

The tie-up comes as businesses expand into more markets and payment systems become more fragmented. According to figures cited by the companies, 137 countries now have round-the-clock instant payment systems, creating a more complex mix of domestic and regional payment rails.

That expansion is pressuring fraud controls to keep pace. The companies cited survey data showing that nearly three in four organisations planned to enter a new country or region, while many took at least a month to deploy their most recent fraud or anti-money laundering system and nearly a quarter took four months or more.

Scaling risk controls

SEON said its platform assesses risk across the customer journey, from onboarding to checkout and payment. It uses more than 1,100 real-time data signals, including digital footprint, device intelligence and behavioural data, to identify identity inconsistencies and detect patterns linked to fraud rings.

Yuno operates a vendor-agnostic model that lets customers choose the fraud and risk providers that fit their requirements. Through a single integration, it connects businesses to a broad range of payment methods and has built more than 460 integrations worldwide.

The partnership reflects a wider shift in payments as companies look to expand market coverage without rebuilding core systems for each country or provider. For merchants and financial services groups operating across multiple regions, fraud patterns can differ by geography, payment method and customer behaviour, making controls harder to standardise.

"Merchants scaling internationally face fraud patterns that vary by market, payment method and customer behavior," said Troy Nyi Nyi, SVP and GM, APAC, SEON.

"Partnering with Yuno gives the businesses on their platform access to fraud prevention and identity verification that works across all of those dimensions without building a separate integration," Nyi said.

Payments reach

Yuno serves merchants, banks and digital wallets seeking to manage payments and related financial services through one API. Its platform covers pay-ins, payouts, fraud prevention, know-your-customer and know-your-business checks, and stablecoins.

Its customers include McDonald's, NetEase Games, GoFundMe, inDrive and Rappi. It also works with banks, acquirers, payment service providers and wallets looking to update payments infrastructure without replacing core systems.

SEON, which focuses on fraud prevention and anti-money laundering compliance, said its tools are used by thousands of companies worldwide. It operates from Austin, London, Budapest and Singapore.

The deal underlines how fraud screening and identity verification are becoming more closely tied to the payments stack, rather than being added later as separate systems. For companies entering new markets, that can reduce the time needed to put risk controls in place alongside payment acceptance.

"As businesses expand globally and want to improve their capabilities, their fraud and risk infrastructure needs to scale just as quickly as their payments infrastructure," said Mauricio Schwartzmann, Chief Financial Services Officer, Yuno.

"Our partnership with SEON gives customers a powerful option for managing fraud and identity verification across markets, all this enabled quickly through the same infrastructure they already use to manage their payments," Schwartzmann said.
