AccountsIQ has partnered with Abacum, linking AccountsIQ's accounting software with Abacum's financial planning and analysis platform for mid-market businesses.

The partnership combines AccountsIQ's multi-entity, multi-currency accounting system with Abacum's budgeting, forecasting and reporting tools. The aim is to create a connected workflow that takes finance teams from financial records through reporting to planning without relying on spreadsheet-based handovers.

Under the arrangement, actual financial data from AccountsIQ will flow automatically into Abacum's platform, removing the manual export and import steps that often sit between accounting systems and financial planning tools.

Both companies are targeting finance teams at mid-market organisations, particularly those with more complex group structures. AccountsIQ says its software is used by more than 35,000 users in more than 85 countries, while Abacum says it has customers in more than 30 countries and has raised more than USD $90 million in funding.

Workflow change

The integration is designed for businesses that want accounting data and forward planning in the same process. AccountsIQ will continue to provide ledger, consolidation and foreign exchange conversion functions, while Abacum will sit on top of that data to support planning, forecasting and analysis.

One early user is GP Bullhound, the investment bank, which is using the combined setup. AccountsIQ says its integrations team built the Abacum connector for the bank's multi-entity structure, allowing its finance team to replace manual uploads with automated data flows.

The move reflects a broader push by finance software providers to connect core accounting systems more directly with planning tools. Mid-sized businesses operating across several jurisdictions have often relied on spreadsheet models to bridge the gap between financial close, management reporting and forecasting.

TJ Dhadwar, Partnerships Manager, Abacum, said, "At Abacum, we focus on turning financial data into real-time decision-making by replacing spreadsheets with scalable planning and empowering finance teams to lead businesses. Our new strategic partnership with AccountsIQ is the next step in creating a unified finance workflow from record to report to plan, with actuals flowing automatically from AccountsIQ into our platform, removing the manual export/import step that usually breaks FP&A workflows."

Mid-market focus

AccountsIQ has built its business around mid-market companies with multiple entities, and the tie-up expands its offering beyond core accounting. Its platform includes native consolidation and built-in foreign exchange conversion across currencies including GBP, USD and EUR.

Abacum focuses on financial planning and analysis, often referred to as FP&A, covering budgeting, forecasting, reporting and scenario planning. In practice, that means finance teams can use accounting data from completed periods as the basis for forward-looking plans and operational analysis.

Darren Cran, Chief Executive Officer, AccountsIQ, said, "Our partnership with Abacum comes at the height of the AI-powered finance evolution in the UK and has extended AccountsIQ's value beyond accounting to support strategic planning and better business decision-making.

"For our multi-entity customers, consolidated actuals, already reconciled, FX-converted and rolled up through AccountsIQ, now flow directly into Abacum for planning, forecasting and reporting, helping them scale with confidence.

"With Abacum, we have established a partner ecosystem delivering a best-in-class finance stack. Following this new partnership, we plan to continue to help international businesses such as GP Bullhound get clean, consolidated numbers out of complex, multi-entity operations and get those numbers into the hands of FP&A faster."

The agreement also highlights the growing importance of partner ecosystems in finance software, where providers increasingly link specialist tools rather than trying to cover every function alone. For accounting vendors, that can mean extending into planning through integrations, while FP&A providers gain direct access to structured financial data held in the ledger.

For customers, the main issue is often data consistency. If finance teams use one system for statutory and management numbers and another for budgets and forecasts, manual transfers can create delays and increase the risk of errors. Automated links between the two can shorten reporting cycles and give finance teams a more current view of performance.

Abacum says its platform is built as a collaborative workspace for planning, forecasting and reporting. The combined setup is intended to help finance teams move from accurate underlying numbers to analysis and planning without breaking the workflow between systems.

GP Bullhound is already using the combined platform, with the connector built for its multi-entity structure to replace manual uploads with automated data flows.
