Chargebee appoints new leaders as market reaches USD $1.5 trillion

Wed, 26th Jun 2024

Chargebee has announced the appointment of Brian Clark as its new President of Go-to-Market and Andrew Sherwood as the new Senior Vice President of Global Sales. These appointments come as the global subscription economy is projected to reach USD $1.5 trillion by 2025. Clark and Sherwood will spearhead Chargebee's efforts to capture market opportunities with its comprehensive revenue growth management platform.

Brian Clark brings over 20 years of experience in executive leadership roles from companies that have significantly impacted the industry. Most recently, Clark was the Chief Revenue Officer at Vista-backed Wrike, a work management software company. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in aiding the company's divestiture from Citrix Systems and guided its growth, leading to a recapitalisation by Symphony Technology Group. Prior to this, Clark's role as Chief Revenue Officer at InMoment saw him triple the company’s revenue growth over a span of three years. His early career included a 12-year stint at SiriusDecisions, where he started as one of the initial employees and eventually rose to the position of Chief Revenue Officer, ultimately contributing to the company's USD $225 million sale to Forrester Research in 2019.

"I'm thrilled to be leading Chargebee's go-to-market strategy at a time when we're doubling down on the needs of the modern global enterprise," said Clark. "My passion stems from having grown multiple B2B technology companies into industry-leading subscription businesses, with the consistent goal of helping customers maximise the value of subscription and recurring revenue models for growth."

Andrew Sherwood joins Chargebee with substantial experience in driving revenue growth across various industries and subscription models. Before his current assignment, Sherwood held significant leadership positions at Grammarly, Salesforce, and SiriusDecisions. At Grammarly, he achieved triple-digit growth over four years and secured notable enterprise customers.

The subscription leaders Conde Nast, Calendly, Freshworks, Babbel, and Pret-a-Manger utilise Chargebee’s revenue growth management technology to cater to the evolving needs of their business and consumer buyers. Notably, new customers who pay more than USD $250,000 annually to Chargebee doubled in 2023 compared to 2022. Pret a Manger, headquartered in London and known for its coffee and sandwich franchise, experienced a 20% revenue growth after introducing its "Club Pret" subscription-based loyalty programme with Chargebee. Members of the "Club Pret" spend significantly more than non-subscribers each month and the company has effectively increased customer retention and reduced cancellations using Chargebee's platform.

Krish Subramanian, Chargebee's CEO and co-founder, commented on the new appointments, stating, "We are excited to welcome Brian and Drew to our team. Their appointments are timely and strategic, reaffirming our commitment to empowering businesses of all sizes to maximise their growth potential and revenue. The combined experience and expertise of Brian and Drew will greatly contribute to our continued success helping businesses launch, manage, and scale subscription and recurring revenue models."
