Tue, 23rd Jul 2024

Device Technologies Group has entered into an agreement to acquire the Venusys and Infinity Group of Companies, which encompass Fusion Scientific, Bits Medical, and Vennbio Nutriceutical.

This transaction marks Device Technologies Group's foray into the point of care imaging technology sector, expanding its market presence beyond Australia and New Zealand.

The strategic move is also notable for being Device Technologies Group's first acquisition in Southeast Asia, specifically targeting Malaysia and Singapore. Nathaniel McLay, Managing Director of Asia for Device Technologies Group, remarked, "This is a considerable step forward for Device Technologies Group.

This purchase will allow us to push forward with our mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions and exceptional service to healthcare professionals across the APAC region."

Venusys Medical, founded in 2005, is known for its expertise in laser and light-based equipment, primarily catering to the aesthetic and surgical markets in Malaysia. The company collaborates with healthcare professionals, hospitals, private medical centres, and aesthetic physician clinics to deliver solutions addressing a range of concerns in dermatology, cosmetics, and plastic surgery.

Infinity Medical, established in 2003, has specialised in the distribution of various medical technologies, with a particular focus on point of care imaging equipment.

In addition to these two major entities, the acquisition includes three other organisations: Bits Medical, Fusion Scientific, and Vennbio Nutriceutical. Bits Medical provides specialist radiographic equipment and support services, including X-ray systems, digital radiography, and veterinary diagnostic solutions.

Fusion Scientific is involved in medical-grade skincare and private-label solutions, offering extensive product training and support in dermatological care. Vennbio Nutriceutical is recognised for its skin whitening and depigmentation solutions, enhancing beauty and nourishment in various markets.

McLay emphasised the alignment of the acquired companies with Device Technologies Group’s strategic goals. "It was clear that both Venusys, Infinity Medical, and their affiliated companies align perfectly with our strategic growth plan and share our values of delivering superior health outcomes for our customers and patients."

"We're incredibly excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring to the region," he said.

The acquisition is expected to provide Venusys and Infinity Medical with the opportunity to leverage Device Technologies Group’s extensive footprint in Asia, facilitating their expansion beyond current markets in Malaysia and Singapore. This strategic integration aims to bolster Device Technologies Group's capability to offer an even broader range of healthcare solutions across the APAC region.

The deal represents a significant expansion for Device Technologies Group, which continues to solidify its position as a leading provider of innovative medical solutions. By entering the point of care imaging technology sector, the company aims to enhance its product portfolio further and provide more comprehensive services to healthcare professionals.
