FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ping Identity is offering early access to PingOne neo, the company's multi-standards decentralised identity management solution.

Neo minimises resource and compliance difficulties for businesses and provides superior data security, privacy and control for individuals.

Ping Identity notes that many digital services need verified information about people in order to do business, which is why Neo has been designed to simplify getting that information from a trusted source, whether inside or outside an organisation, through verifiable credentials.

Further, companies are now able to verify without needing complex and expensive back-end integrations that expand their attack surface.

Neo uses digital credentials to instantly establish trust with individuals, reducing the possibility of identity theft for them and strengthening security for the enterprise.

"Organisations spend significant time and money obtaining and verifying information from customers and employees, then attempt to determine access, entitlements, and authorisations to remain secure and compliant," says Andre Durand, CEO and Founder of Ping Identity.

"Neo eliminates the manual resource burden from businesses while empowering individuals with their own data, reducing threats of fraud or identity theft while increasing privacy."

Decentralised identity helps to ensure the person behind the credential is who they claim to be, minimising the chance of transaction fraud and account takeovers.

Neo works by having a user request a verifiable credential from a company that is cryptographically signed and verifiable.

This credential is added to the user's digital wallet and able to be shared with the organisation that needs it, giving the individual complete control over what information gets shared.

PingOne Neo is part of an open and interoperable platform that supports popular decentralised and other identity standards from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the OpenID Foundation, and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Ping Identity is also a key contributor to the Open Wallet Foundation Initiative (OWF), which uses open source software to support interoperability between digital wallets.

Ping Identity was named a leader in three 2022 KuppingerCole Leadership Compass reports in October 2022, including Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM).

In addition, the company has been named a leader in the Passwordless Authentication and Providers of Verified Identity reports, respectively.

This KuppingerCole recognition marks the third consecutive year that Ping Identity has been named a leader in the CIAM report and comes after the company was recognised as a Leader in the 2022 KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Access Management.

The Leadership Compass for Passwordless Authentication report, written by Alejandro Leal, Analyst at KuppingerCole, places great importance on Ping Identity's products as "highly scalable and offering maximum flexibility to customers in terms of support for standards as well as innovation for cutting-edge use cases."

"Ping Identity is a leader in the innovation category," says Anne Bailey, Analyst and Author of the Leadership Compass for Providers of Verified Identity report.

"They take a decentralised approach while also building out a broad ecosystem of identity verification partners to meet global regulatory and customer needs."
