Mon, 14th Dec 2020
FYI, this story is more than a year old

New Relic, a provider of software observability through the cloud, has appointed several new staff to its enterprise sales division in Australia and New Zealand, following what the company is calling a year of ‘strong team growth'.

Speaking about global trends in 2020, New Relic Australia and New Zealand regional managing director and vice president, Sharryn Napier, says that lockdowns have accelerated digital transformation, which will likely continue.

“The increased number of digital transformation projects that began earlier this year shows no signs of slowing, as the outbreak and rolling lockdowns continue to force the community to move at speed and digitise processes that were once done manually.

The company has appointed Australia and New Zealand enterprise sales senior manager Brad Periott, who comes from a technology background at companies including Optus and Sun Microsystems.

Periott most recently worked at Dell Technologies for the last seven years; supporting key clients including Macquarie Group Limited, NBN Co and Telstra.

“We are delighted to have a seasoned sales executive like Brad join our team at New Relic, as we grow our footprint in the region and support more businesses to deliver cloud services projects and digital delivery plans,” says Napier.

In September, New Relic also appointed new Australia federal government account lead Clinton Monger and Australia and New Zealand financial services executive Mark Rogerson.

Further, Simon Williams and Jon Bird who have joined the New Relic team in Melbourne, together with Steven Black is based in New Zealand.

Simon Williams comes from account director roles at Dataiku and Qlik. His role will be to deliver business value through New Relic's digital initiatives.

“Williams has a strong track record of successfully introducing innovative technologies into large enterprises and brings a wealth of experience to the role,” the company states.

Jon Bird's most recent position was as digital product design platform InVision as APAC enterprise account executive. Black last held the role of account manager at EMC and joins New Relic as an account executive.

New Relic's customers include the University of South Australia, Australia Post and Xero. Other customers include Afterpay, Telstra, Atlassian, SBS, Origin Energy and THE ICONIC.

This year the University of South Australia, turned to New Relic to support an increasing number of students to study online during the pandemic.

Australia Post also looked to New Relic to support a spike in demand for its services brought on by COVID-19.
