Ninja Van Malaysia has modernised its fulfilment operations with mobile computing and printing systems from Zebra Technologies and the AC2 WAVE warehouse management system, doubling scanning speeds in its warehouses.

Serving nearly 25 million recipients across Malaysia, the logistics company introduced the changes as it expanded its work for eCommerce and business-to-business clients and faced more complex fulfilment demands.

Ninja Van Malaysia implemented the cloud-based AC2 WAVE warehouse management system with software provider AC2 WAVE. It also rolled out Zebra TC2 series mobile computers for warehouse staff and Zebra ZD200 series desktop printers at packing stations.

Warehouse workers use the handheld devices to access inventory and location data while moving through picking and dispatch tasks. After orders are picked, items are labelled at packing stations using the desktop printers to support parcel routing across the delivery network.

The system links activities from picking through to final dispatch and gives teams real-time visibility over inventory during fulfilment, helping remove delays during periods of high order volume.

Warehouse changes

Operators are now processing between 30 and 60 scans a minute across thousands of daily orders, roughly twice the previous rate. Label output from the printers has also become easier to read throughout the delivery journey, helping reduce complaints related to missed or delayed deliveries.

Ninja Van Malaysia was founded to meet delivery demand across Southeast Asia and has grown alongside the country's wider digital economy. Official figures cited in the announcement showed Malaysia's digital economy contributed RM451.3 billion to the national economy in 2024.

That growth has put more pressure on warehousing and logistics groups to process rising order volumes quickly while maintaining tracking accuracy and dispatch schedules. For operators handling eCommerce traffic, warehouse scanning, inventory visibility and label accuracy are central to keeping parcels moving without disruption.

The deployment reflects a broader push by logistics companies to digitise warehouse floor tasks rather than rely on manual checks and fragmented systems. Mobile devices linked to warehouse software can reduce lag between stock movement and system updates, while on-site printing can limit labelling errors at packing stations.

Tzi Zhao Lee, director of supply chain and partnerships at Ninja Van Malaysia, described the practical effect of the changes on daily operations.

"With faster scanning and a system that keeps everything flowing seamlessly, our operations are now smoother, more efficient, and truly exceptional," Lee said.

"Instead of waiting for the system to catch up, things just move. I can now spend less time at the warehouse troubleshooting, as things take care of themselves. There is less frustration, people are happier, and they keep their momentum going throughout the shift," Lee added.

Sector pressure

Zebra said the Ninja Van Malaysia project showed how logistics providers are responding to rising pressure from digital commerce. The company supplies tracking, mobile computing, printing and workflow tools to sectors including transport, retail and healthcare.

Malaysia remains one of Southeast Asia's most active eCommerce markets, and fulfilment networks have had to adapt to customer expectations for faster delivery and accurate parcel status information. In that environment, warehouse speed matters not only for internal productivity but also for the reliability of final-mile operations.

Kym Lim, country manager for Malaysia and Brunei at Zebra Technologies, linked the warehouse upgrade to those wider market conditions.

"Malaysia's rapidly growing digital economy places immense pressure on logistics providers to deliver with unprecedented speed and accuracy," Lim said.

"Ninja Van Malaysia's success is a powerful example of how equipping a connected frontline with the right technology can drive significant operational modernisation. Zebra's warehousing solutions with the robust AC2 WAVE WMS have enabled Ninja Van to overcome critical peak-volume challenges, empowering its workers to deliver reliable, exceptional service," Lim added.
