Global tax and compliance solutions provider Sovos has announced a strategic upscale with the appointment of two new vice presidents of sales for the EMEA and LATAM regions. The company, which specialises in regulatory compliance and Value Added Tax (VAT), Tax and Regulatory Information (TIR), Sales and Use Tax (SUT) and Beverage Alcohol compliance, is set to optimise growth and navigate the exigent global tax and compliance landscape in these regions.

The company, demonstrating its commitment to meet this demand, announced Elcim Sirek taking on the new role of Vice President of Sales for EMEA, joined by Marcelo Souza, who assumes the role of Vice President of Sales for LATAM. These esteemed leaders are attributed with proven track records in aligning sales organisations to meet the evolving needs of an always-on, global economy.
Alice Katwan, President of revenue at Sovos, stressed the importance of experienced leadership in meeting the needs of both current and future customers as the demand for global compliance services continues to rise. She praised Sirek for her strong leadership in driving sustainable pipeline and customer bookings and highlighted Souza's expertise in generating growth by meeting the unique needs of his customers, as invaluable for the team in LATAM.
Prior to this promotion, Sirek served as General Manager for Turkey, where she drove market demand and created new revenue streams. Having previously honed her skills at Oracle, overseeing the enterprise applications group for the Turkey region, Sirek’s sustained record of building strong relationships across the EMEA region is invaluable. Reflective of this, Sirek noted, "Sovos ensures that our customers remain a step ahead so they can focus on business growth while we handle compliance. Souza, previously Vice President of Sales for LATAM at Databricks, played a pivotal role in scaling operations and driving growth. With significant experience with tech company Splunk, where he was instrumental in securing over 300 new customers due to the build-out of SaaS sales processes and strategy, Souza brings invaluable experience to the Sovos team. Souza expressed his excitement at joining Sovos in such critical times, noting, "This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Sovos as we are in the midst of changing the way the global business community views and solves for compliance.
