TBC Bank Uzbekistan has expanded its TBC Salom debit card through a partnership with UZCARD, adding a new version of the card to its existing issuance arrangements.
In the first phase of the project, TBC Bank Uzbekistan and UZCARD plan to issue up to one million additional TBC Salom cards. The new card will run on UZCARD's domestic payments network and include discounted public transport fares through ATTO, the fare payment system used across parts of Uzbekistan's transport network.
The move follows rapid growth in the lender's main day-to-day banking card. TBC Salom, also issued through Humo and Visa, has grown more than tenfold since its launch in late 2024, reaching 1.2 million cards in circulation by the end of June 2026.
The card is central to TBC Bank Uzbekistan's retail offering. Customers using TBC Salom receive 12% annual interest on deposits, 5% cashback at partner merchants, and free cash transfers and ATM withdrawals.
As part of the initial rollout of the UZCARD-backed version, the bank is offering 5% cashback on all purchases for the first month after activation. The promotion runs until the end of December 2026.
Card growth
The expansion gives TBC Bank Uzbekistan another domestic channel for distributing a product it describes as a gateway to its wider financial services ecosystem. Alongside the TBC Osmon credit card, TBC Salom helps bring customers into other parts of the group's offering, including lending, buy now, pay later, business banking, insurance, travel, and ticketing.
TBC Uzbekistan said its broader digital financial ecosystem has scaled to nearly 6 million monthly active users. That user base combines the digital banking activities of TBC Bank Uzbekistan with the reach of payments platform Payme and business services linked to TBC Business and BILLZ.
The partnership also highlights the importance of domestic payments infrastructure in Uzbekistan's banking market, where local networks play a central role in everyday spending and transfers. By adding UZCARD issuance to its existing arrangements, TBC Bank Uzbekistan is broadening access to a product designed for daily use.
Spartak Tetrashvili, Chief Executive Officer of TBC Bank Uzbekistan, said the tie-up would help expand the card's role in customers' daily lives.
"Through this partnership, we are continuing to raise the bar for financial services in Uzbekistan, expanding TBC Salom's capabilities and providing an unparalleled customer experience. Combining our unique digital expertise with UZCARD's payments system and ATTO's transport functionality, we have created a product that helps users handle more of their daily needs. Demand for TBC Salom has been exceptional since launch, and we have ambitious plans to further entrench its position as Uzbekistan's leading daily banking product," Tetrashvili said.
Payments link
For UZCARD, the agreement brings one of the country's larger digital banking brands onto its network for another card issuance programme. It also extends the platform's use in transport fare collection through the ATTO integration included in the new version of the card.
Alisher Yunuskhodjaev, Director of the Banking and Payment Organisations Department at UZCARD, said the product was designed for everyday payment needs.
"At UZCARD, we're focused on developing products that meet people's real needs and help make everyday payments more convenient. Through this partnership with TBC Bank Uzbekistan, we have been able to produce a unique tool that can be used across all touchpoints in daily life, from shopping to transferring money and getting around the city or country on public transport," Yunuskhodjaev said.
TBC Uzbekistan has positioned retail banking and payments as linked parts of a single digital platform, with cards serving as one of the main ways to deepen user engagement. The latest expansion of TBC Salom shows how that strategy is being applied through partnerships with domestic infrastructure providers as the bank seeks further scale in Uzbekistan's consumer finance market.
The first phase targets up to one million new cards.
