AspireOS launches to help banks modernise SME business banking
Aspire has introduced AspireOS, a modular technology platform aimed at assisting banks in modernising their business banking services. The product offers a suite of digital tools and AI-powered workflows designed to streamline onboarding, payments, credit, and accounting operations for commercial banks.
Banking technology
AspireOS provides banks with the option to enhance the speed and automation of their business banking operations. The modular system is intended to work alongside existing core banking systems, offering an upgrade pathway without the need for full technology replacement. Aspire claims its platform will help banks address ongoing demands from businesses for more user-friendly, digitally enabled financial services.
Market opportunity
According to Aspire, the annual global market for modern business banking software is estimated at USD $9 billion. Company estimates suggest this is driven by over 6,000 commercial banks worldwide that are currently looking to modernise digital business banking for their corporate clients. One aim is to reduce customer movement to fintech challengers offering more efficient digital onboarding, payments processing, and automated financial management.
Product modules
The AspireOS platform is structured around two main modules. The Core Banking module is designed to simplify scaling for banks looking to expand their digital business offerings, with features including customer onboarding, compliance measures, payment processing, debit cards, and credit products. The Financial OS module, powered by artificial intelligence, provides automation and control across workflows such as invoicing, accounts receivable, payables, expense management, and payroll functions.
Client needs
Many banks have continued to invest in digital channels. However, Aspire suggests that the needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in particular are not being fully met by incumbent providers. As a result, businesses have increasingly opted for digital-first players which focus on quicker onboarding, seamless payment flows, and integrated expense tools.
"This demand marks a major white space in digital business banking: businesses want the trust and stability of a bank, but with the user experience and automation they've come to expect from fintechs. AspireOS bridges that gap by helping banks deliver the same seamless experience within their own branded ecosystem, backed by enterprise-grade compliance and security," said Andrea Baronchelli, CEO and co-founder, Aspire.
SME focus
AspireOS is being presented as an offering to help banks serve SMEs, who are seeking more intelligence, automation, and a better overall customer experience than has been standard in business banking. The company states it is targeting commercial banks that want to keep up with fintechs but require solutions that can integrate with legacy systems.
"At Aspire, our goal has always been to build infrastructure that compounds value. AspireOS represents a natural extension of that mission, helping banks serve SMEs with the same intelligence, speed, and customer experience that have defined Aspire's success," said Baronchelli.
