Fri, 26th Apr 2024

Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has today announced the availability of its two latest innovations in Singapore: the Hitachi iQ line of products and Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform One.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are revolutionising industries globally. Many companies are exploring solutions that merge AI into their existing structures. This urgency has risen as companies struggle to manage increasing quantities of structured and unstructured data across different platforms, such as on-premises and cloud-based systems.

Consequently, as a larger number of businesses leverage generative AI to enhance their outcomes, this puts more strain on data systems. Existing storage solutions are struggling to keep pace with advancements in technologies like generative AI, cloud computing, and the fast growth of enterprise data. Organisations are now so focused on data that they are even generating synthetic data to support their AI solutions.

Hitachi Vantara has announced the availability of Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform One, providing a data foundation for hybrid cloud storage. This hybrid cloud platform is set to transform how organisations manage and utilise their data amidst fast-evolving technology. Octavian Tanase, Chief Product Officer at Hitachi Vantara, stated that the platform "unifies data and provides flexibility regardless of whether your data is in an on-premises, cloud, or software-defined environment." Moreover, it guarantees "100% data availability, modern storage assurance, and effective capacity across all its solutions, providing organisations with simplicity at scale."

Hitachi Vantara's collaboration with NVIDIA aims to create a new generation of transformational artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. Hitachi Vantara's new Hitachi iQ solutions aim to drive targeted AI outcomes by layering industry-specific capabilities on top of its AI solution stack. Sheila Rohra, CEO of Hitachi Vantara, said, "this collaboration empowers us to integrate NVIDIA's AI leadership with Hitachi Vantara's expertise in future-facing hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions."

The first offering under the Hitachi iQ portfolio, powered by NVIDIA's H100 Tensor Core GPUs, is planned for launch in the first quarter of Hitachi's fiscal year. Charlie Boyle, Vice President of DGX platforms at NVIDIA, stated: "Hitachi Vantara customers will be able to create AI Centers of Excellence to turbocharge their generative AI strategies."

Hitachi is transforming to meet market needs, previously announcing the formation of the Hitachi Generative AI Center of Excellence. Hitachi plans to focus on creating OT-specific foundational models as part of its broad relationship with NVIDIA. Through Hitachi iQ, Hitachi and its subsidiary and partner ecosystem will assist customers discover AI's potential, thereby improving their enterprise.
