Vultr partners with Run:ai to boost GPU efficiency globally

Fri, 2nd Aug 2024

Vultr, a cloud computing provider, has entered into a partnership with Run:ai to improve GPU efficiency across Vultr's global network. The collaboration aims to integrate Run:ai's smart scheduling and fractional GPU capabilities with Vultr's infrastructure, enhancing performance and resource utilisation for AI projects.

Run:ai's technology is designed to optimise Vultr's infrastructure by reducing downtime and improving resource allocation. "Our partnership with Vultr will give these organisations a comprehensive solution suite designed to address the technical challenges of AI project development," stated Sandeep Brahmarouthu, Head of Global Business Development at Run:ai. He further elaborated that this collaboration will equip businesses with "unparalleled adaptability, performance, and control."

The combined capabilities of Vultr's cloud infrastructure and Run:ai's orchestration tools are set to accelerate AI project development. By doing so, new AI models can be developed and brought to market at a faster pace than previously possible. According to the companies, this partnership aims to facilitate rapid AI deployment and provide customizable scalability.

Kevin Cochrane, CMO of Vultr, highlighted the partnership's potential to offer high performance and cost efficiency. "Our integrated platform will not only ensure high performance and cost efficiency for customers worldwide but also give them the agility needed to navigate the evolving demands of modern AI environments," Cochrane commented.

The collaboration also promises to address key issues faced by enterprises deploying AI initiatives. These include scaling AI training jobs, dealing with fragmented AI development tools, and managing long queue times for AI experimentation. Vultr's scalable infrastructure and Run:ai's AI workload orchestration platform aim to diminish these challenges, fostering a more streamlined and efficient AI development lifecycle.

In addition to enhancing GPU utilisation, the partnership is expected to simplify lifecycle management of AI projects. Integrated tools for dynamic resource allocation, efficient training, and comprehensive monitoring form part of this solution. Run:ai’s platform is also noted for its advanced security features, including role-based access control and detailed audit logs, which align with Vultr’s secure infrastructure to ensure robust data security and compliance.

The partnership benefits from Vultr’s existing integrations with Cloud Alliance partners such as Qdrant and Console Connect. Qdrant offers a high-performance vector database capable of managing large volumes of vector data, thus improving tasks like similarity search and recommendation systems. Console Connect facilitates secure, low-latency data transfer, enhancing the overall efficiency of the AI/ML pipeline. The inclusion of Run:ai adds another layer of advanced AI workload orchestration to this integrated stack.

The partnership underscores Vultr's commitment to providing its customers with advanced technologies required to achieve business goals. By integrating their high-performance cloud solutions with Run:ai’s AI workload management, the two companies aim to create a robust, scalable, and efficient solution for handling demanding AI/ML workloads. This is set to result in not only enhanced performance and cost-effective operations but also lowered operational costs.
